How to embed a video into your Powerpoint

It is very quick and easy in Powerpoint to insert an embedded video into your Powerpoint.

 Go to the insert tab then to video on the far right of the ribbon. 

There are two options. 

Insert a saved file or insert one from the web. 

If (as most would) you want to insert from the web you need to get the full embed code. 

In Youtube you will find this under share - embed - old embed code. 

Simply copy and past that into the box on the slide. 

Troubleshooting for Ribbon Hero....

If Ribbon Hero v1.2 fails to load

The Ribbon Hero installer was changed between v1.0 and v1.2. We had some troubleshooting tips for v1.0 but those do now need to be updated.

If Ribbon Hero 1.2 fails to load after install there these are some things you can try.

1. In Office go to, File tab->[Word] Options->pick “Add-Ins” from the menu on the left, selected Manage “COM Add-ins”. Verify that you see ‘Microsoft Office Labs Ribbon Hero’ in the list. If not you will have to reinstall Ribbon Hero.

2. If Ribbon Hero is in the list but with no checkbox, try to check it. Close the dialog and open it again. Is Ribbon Hero still checked? If it is you are done and the Ribbon Hero button should now be on your home tab.

3. If Office keeps unchecking the Ribbon Hero there might be something wrong with your install. In the Ribbon Hero launcher we will try to correct the most common install issues. Try opening the Office application from the launcher and see it that fixes your issue.

4. If you are still not getting Ribbon Hero to load the next thing to try is to reinstall Ribbon Hero.

5. After re-install if you are still not getting Ribbon Hero to show up we currently do not have any good suggestions on what to try next. Sorry… You can take a look in the other Office applications. Ribbon Hero should show up in Word/PPT/Excel and OneNote. If Ribbon Hero does not show up in any of the applications the issue is with the machine or the setting on the machine. (Are you able to add any add-ins to Office?) If Ribbon Hero shows up in some applications but not others the install of Ribbon Hero itself was installed ok but the problem is related to registering Ribbon Hero with that Office application. Re trying the install with all the Office applications closed and the computer in a restated state might work. If not hopefully you have another machine where you can run Ribbon Hero on... We will keep looking at these installer issues.
