First few ICT sessions...

Welcome! Here is a breakdown of what we will be focussing on in class for the next few lessons....

Firstly... do you have your network usernames and passwords? If not - you need to see Glen in the Computer Office NOW. Also, can you locate the Z drive (or Jaipur) in your network list? You will need to be able to access this.

Tasks:

·      Create a “School Work folder” on laptop desktop
·      In that folder create a whole lot of subject sub-folders for each of your classes. E.g English, Music, Science, Maths, etc...
·      Copy and paste that school folder into your NAMED folder on z Drive (Jaipur)  - in student files.

To SYNC – Have folder open on desktop / plus network Z drive folder up – drag one onto another and folders will copy and sync to back up – DO THIS EACH WEEK :)

  •   What do you know about KnowledgeNET?? Log onto Knowledge net and have a look at our Year 9 ICT page. It will have a link back to the most important webpage you will need ... this blog! Also - if there are any documents or resources that are posted online - you can find them in the filing cabinet on the left hand side of our ICT page on KnowledgeNET.
  • First big ICT publishing task - In Microsoft Office WORD create a poster to inform other school users about how to properly care for their netbooks.... E.g. Don't BANG BUMP DROP / DON'T LIFT BY ITS LID / DON'T HAVE DRINKS OR LIQUIDS NEARBY / KEEP IT CHARGED AT HOME / KEEP IN CASE / SAVE ALL WORK TO DESKTOP FOLDER AND Z DRIVE. Think about how to make your poster stick out - colour / borders / pictures / font /  etc...

When in doubt, always refer back to this blog post for details on what you should be working on. If you have finished your set task and need something else to do...

TASKS YOU CAN BE CONTINUING WITH ALWAYS -

(What are the system requirements? Ribbon Hero 2 needs Windows 7, Vista, or XP, and it only works with Office 2007 or 2010. Also, your Windows display language must be set to English
