your response on “Face Recognition”
and what you think about it. Good / bad? Why? After viewing the video clip. I want a paragraph answer containing at least 3-4 sentences in reply :)
TASK 5:
Create an A4 poster in WORD or PUBLISHER on "What it takes to be a good digital citizen". Your poster must be informative, using points which we have discussed in class. Refer to your comments on the blog from our previous class.... you are trying to inform and challenge students to make a change for the better... to become a good digital citizen!
Your poster MUST include the following:
- Create and insert images (from the internet) or from your own hard-drive- which relate to your topic!
- Add captions to your images - they need a "title" or line of text saying what they are or are about
- Create a screenshot and include it in your poster
- Insert an autoshape (you must tie it in to your poster somehow!)
- Manipulate an image somehow - flip / rotate etc (or be able to demonstrate it to me when you show me your poster)
- Be able to use fill and shading... e.g. by using an image border, shape etc.
I think it is pretty cool that technology is moving so fast and that Facebook can tell who we are. It also has the possibility to be abused. I think its a useful feature and could help catch bad people.

It's creepy, you could get stalked.
ReplyDeleteFacebook is adding useful features and it is becoming really helpful. TEchnology is progressing faster and faster and it is really cool. Face recognition has the possibility to be abused, ie :using our faces through advertising or selling our information to other companies.

ReplyDeleteI feel that if face book is going to record our faces and match it to other pictures of us, with out or permission, that is is practically "stealing" our faces and if they use or faces in a ad without our knowing then there is something very wrong with that and people should be informed that their faces are being recognized by their computers.

I think it is creepy. The fact that something you do not know about knows all of your facial features crosses the line of your privacy.
ReplyDeleteFace recognition is bad and creepy. I'm creeped out by this because now I know that facebook can track me down. This makes me feel exposed to people I don't know.

ReplyDeleteI think the Facebook face recognition thing is quite cool and kinda of bad. The good thing is that it dose not take that long to tag your self in photos on FB now, but the bad thing is that it might tag you in a photo you don't want tagged.
